Participaron un total de 15 escuelas de la ciudad y alrededores de la ciudad. El equipo representante de la escuela de Karate Marode estuvo integrado por los siguientes alumnos:Vanina Morales - Azul Espinosa - Walter Villegas - Lucas Maradei - Luciano Benítez - Marcos Gómez - Cristian Rojas - Tiago Forastieri - Reyes Ramírez - Joel Cabello - Ileana Natalí - Mauro Gómez - Sebastián Matoso. El principal objetivo del torneo consistía en el reconocimiento y el premio al equipo que se pusiera a la altura de los demás niveles deportivos y de karate deportivo en nuestra ciudad. La competencia se desarrolló desde las once de la mañana hasta las 7 de la tarde en las diferentes categorías y títulos. El jurado estuvo compuesto por veteranos karatecas y técnicos de la Federación Argentina de Karate Do (FAK). Los ganadores fueron entregados por el Director de Deportes del Municipio de General Pueyrredón Guillermo Garcete. También en las finales estuvo presente el Subsecretario de Salud Pública Eduardo Rodríguez. Los participantes obtuvieron en cada una de sus presentaciones el galardón y el reconocimiento por sus logros deportivos en el juego limpio. También se entregó la Cita Olímpica para los próximos Juegos Olímpicos de Beijing 2008 al karateca Mariano Sosa. En dicho acto participaron las autoridades de la Federación de Karate de Tandil y San Nicolás, así también como los representantes de la FAK y la Confederación Argentina de Karate. En este torneo se entregó el premio al Mejor Equipo al Karate Club Mar del Plata en la modalidad de KATA. Con una excelente actuación por parte de nuestros instructores y alumnos se puede destacar que obtuvimos medallas de oro en tres oportunidades con Lucas Maradei en kata y kata + Kumite de kata de individuales y coletivo. Por su parte Lucas Hunyadi Karate Club obtuvo medallas de oro en Kata Colectiva para Menores y medalla de plata en la Kata colectiva Master.
